How To Set Up Plate Cutter Before Production In Stamping Line

Plate cutter is widely used in stamping production line, it is suitable for various of thicknesses. Commonly used cutter includes flat shearing, rolling shearing and vibration shearing. The most commonly used type in our machines is hydraulic cutter.

Before production, run few cycles under normal conditions, then test the plates for different thickness, from thin to thick. Ensure that users are familiar with the cutter. The most important parameters are hydraulic pressure and the gap size of two blades.

Normally the pressure will be set between 20-22mpa, the pressure should be less than 20MPa when cutting a 12mm plate. For equipment with hydraulic devices, other hydraulic valves except throttling are not allowed to be adjusted without permission The user must not adjust the pressure or any valves except throttle without permission otherwise it will cause in machine damage. The plate should be fastened firmly, the upper and lower knife plate surface should be kept parallel, after adjustment, manual inspection should be applied to avoid accidents. The blade of the knife plate should be kept sharp. If the blade becomes blunt or cracks, it should be replaced in time. During cutting, the material pressing device should firmly press the sheet material, and it is not allowed to shear under the condition of not pressing tightly.

To adjust the blade gap of the cutter, the lower blade should be shifted out first, and then gradually adjust the lower blade toward to upper blade. The gap of the blades should be measured by plug gauge until reaching the required value. The blade gap should be determined according to the curve of the relationship between the ultimate strength of the sheet material and the plate thickness. It must be adjusted according to different plate thicknesses, otherwise the blade durability will be affected.
