In the stamping industry, the stamping production line usually built by four parts: uncoiler, leveler, feeder and punch press. And the stamping procedure includes decoiling the material and passing through leveler to straighten the material by relieving the stress and then using feeder to constantly sending material into the punch press for stamping to form the products we want. So, stamping production line takes a lot of spaces, therefore depends on the stamping products, size of the factory or degrees of automation, these machines can be combined into following collocations: 2-in-1 leveler (uncoiler+ leveler) plus feeder and punch press, or 3-in-1 feeder (uncoiler+ leveler + feeder) plus punch press.
Besides of the combination of the machines, there are also three types of layouts for material feeding lines.
- Coil sheet were fed from the left side of the punch press, this is also the most common way of stamping, from left to right would be uncoiler – leveler – feeder and punch press, and the finished products came out from the right side of the punch for collecting.
- The other way is to feed coil sheet from right side of the punch press, which is relatively rare in the industry. The principle is the same, through decoiling, leveling and feeding to stamping, but the direction is different, the equipment will be placed from the right side of the punch. The choice of direction does not affect the feeding process and accuracy of the machine if they are installed correctly.
- There is also another layout that feed coil sheet from the front of the punch press, often used in deflecting feeder. Deflecting feeder can move from side to side during feeding, suitable for wafer shape stamping production line to minimize the waste of material, and because of the width of the punch on both sides is limited relative to the front side, therefore people usually choose to feed coil sheet from the front.
